Candace and Farhan

I received word at about midnight last night that two of the most amazing people I have ever known died in a tragic car crash early Monday morning.

I hadn't seen her in years, but it hurts so much to know that I will never see her again, or to know that she isn't out there making the world so much better. Candace was one of those fearless souls, scared of nothing, outspoken, passionate. She always made you smile. She was so, so beautiful.

I never met a more striking young man than Farhan. He was so much like Candace in a lot of ways, and so extremely intelligent. I remember that I liked the way he smiled and the way he laughed.

I can't believe they are gone.
