Can't sleep. It's too warm and I'm hungry, but too lazy to go make something. I'm all clean and content and waiting for a call. I've got all these bumps on my legs that itch--probably from being knee deep in the lawn all weekend. The jungle, I mean. Well, it isn't a jungle anymore, thanks to my father and me. We attacked that lawn--and won. Sort of. There's still 80% of the backyard left to dominate, but...one weekend at a time.
I just watched an old episode of Gilmore Girls. Now there's a show you either love or hate. It's over now, the series finale has come and gone, recorded on the DVR, already collecting proverbial dust. I remember how I got hooked: it seems like just the other day... an entire week at the lake with my parents-- a very hot, muggy week. There was a lot of television watching, I hate to say, and fewer channels than normal from which to choose by. Anyhow, the ABC Family channel happened to show two Gilmore episodes a day, one at 10AM and one at 4PM. And so I watched, and so I was consumed. The whole wonderful driving force behind the show was the romantic tension between Luke and Lorelei, Rory and Jess. Those were my favorite, favorite episode. Besides the characters and their tension, however--there really wasn't much else that drew me. They all talked a little too much, the banter was almost always over-the-top, and some of the characters were just plain annoying and pointless, Rory was just a little too sweet. But, I loved it. We grew apart, Gilmore Girls and I, but I'm still fond of it and I still watch the older episodes. You see, the tension fizzled when they actually got together. What then? There was no suspense! No mystery! And it went downhill from there. Sadly, the last season was the worst. I still watch, though-- I still watch.
I'm afraid I've typed myself sleepy. G'night.

It's nice to read about your love affair with Gilmore Girls ahah. This is much like my long lived affection for Veronica Mars, which is FUNNY and tension filled, sans the over-the-top banter. I think that you should borrow seasons one and two from me and let me spread the Vmars Disease.
Luckily, the show was tentatively cancelled after this season(season 3) so the addiction wouldn't be as long and drawn out as nine seasons of gilmore girls haha! I think I'm coming to lubbock in like...3 weeks? what do you think?
